Eighteen years, 21 impoverished counties, and an 80% higher-education enrollment rate—behind these figures lies the raw reality of rural education in Western China. This talk draws on nearly two decades of speaker Cicely Peng's deep-dive observations and on-site volunteer work to facilitate a candid dialogue on the dilemmas of volunteer-based social work and the persistent pursuit of social equity.
