The Basic Income Asia Pacific 2018 conference stimulated an in-depth conversation on the basic income movement in the Asia Pacific, particularly in Taiwan. The two-day conference attracted over 100 attendees in Taipei, along with thousands of viewers of the online live stream and simultaneous translations. The speaker roster this year featured an extensive list of international and Taiwanese scholars and personalities.
Qin Gao was interviewed in a video dialogue for this conference by James Davis, a Columbia University student, and UBI Taiwan Field Research Director. Qin Gao elaborated on the problems and stigmatization that arise from some of the means-testing conditions on China’s cash program.
