Javier C. Hernandez published the article "Xi Jinping vows no poverty in China. That could be hard." on theNew York Times on Oct. 31, 2017. Qin Gao was quoted when the article referred to the Chinese government's poverty alleviation policies.
The government’s initiatives sound good. But the question is how to sustain poverty reduction. Some people may be looking to quick fixes rather than really addressing poverty.
