Bio

Candice Yandam is a Ph.D. Candidate in Economics at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University. Her current research focuses on labor regulations and economic performance. For instance, her dissertation looks at the impact labor law on workers’ welfare and employment flows in various countries. Candice was awarded an Alliance grant and is a visiting scholar at the Columbia School of Social Work in the spring of 2019. She is working on analyzing China’s Labor Contract Law reform: its effects on the reduction of inequality and its contribution to economic development.

  • Labor law and economics: the relationship between labor law and economics, the impact of labor regulations on welfare and employment.
  • China’s Labor Contract Law: effects on workers’ welfare and on economic development.
