Bio

Shu Zeng is a second-year graduate student at Columbia University School of Social Work, where she pursues a social enterprise administration concentration. As an assistant to Prof. Gao, Shu works on data collection and analysis, learns the skills necessary to address education inequalities in urban China, initiates social-impact oriented projects, and engages in networking and cooperating opportunities. Also, Shu is responsible for scheduling international meetings, translating research materials and providing general support to the China Center. Before coming to Columbia, Shu managed her family’s foundation in China to fund infrastructure and sanitary construction in rural villages, support disadvantaged children and their families on compulsory education and affordable housing, and invest in research and development in top Chinese universities. After graduation, Shu hopes to work with government or private organizations to advocate for education, health, and personal development policies for children and young adults.
